Country-pop singer Taylor Swift will appear in an upcoming episode of New Girl.
The 23-year-old musician will star in scenes with Zooey Deschanel’s character Jess as season two draws to a close.
Swift will play a character called Elaine, an important guest at Jess’s best friend Cece’s wedding. She will be on set next week to shoot her part according to Entertainment Weekly.
It has been reported that Elaine is a bitter ex of Shivrang (Satya Bhabha) who is trying to break up the nuptials.
The unlucky-in-love songstress isn’t new to tacting and has appeared in the film Valentine’s Day opposite Twilight’s Taylor Lautner. She has also had roles in animated film The Lorax, CSI and presented Saturday Night Live.
The quirky series has already included tongue-in-cheek references about the pop beauty. Deschanel’s character once moaned to Nick (Jake Johnson) in heartache ‘I just wanted to listen to Taylor Swift alone’, while listening to her song 22.
Another time, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) tells CeCe he is going through a ‘Taylor Swift-like range of emotions.’
The finale will air on May 14 in the US.
New Girl airs on Mondays at 9pm and 9.30pm and again on Tuesdays at 11am and 11.30am on Fox Series. It also airs on OSN Comedy HD on Thursdays at 6pm and Fridays at 9am and 11am.
