Chevrolet introduced the 2014 Impala, its full-sized flagship sedan, to the Middle East at a media event in Dubai.
According to its designers, the new model boasts a spacious and refined interior coupled with advanced technologies and will be available in Bahrain in June.
The 2014 Impala features 10 standard air bags as well as a host of available safety technologies such as forward collision alert, lane departure warning, side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, rear camera and rear-park assist.
It represents the 10th generation of one of the industry’s most enduring and popular nameplates. It has been America’s best-selling full-sized sedan since 2004, with total sales of more than 169,000 in 2012.
“Chevrolet has historically dominated the full-size sedan segment. I am confident with the new Impala, we will recapture the number one spot,” said John Stadwick, president and managing director of General Motors Middle East Operations.
“It will not only strengthen Chevrolet’s reputation in the region but also set a new benchmark for efficiency, refinement, infotainment and driving confidence.”
The Impala’s V6 engine will be the most powerful naturally aspired engine in the segment. The car also receives an electric power steering system and enhanced suspension.
A 3.6-litre engine powers the 2014 Impala with Variable Valve Timing featuring fuel-saving direct injection and lightweight components. Matched with six speed automatic transmissions, it is rated at 305 horsepower.
The 2014 Impala is offered in LS, LT and LTZ models. In Bahrain, prices are likely to start at around BD10,750 for the LS and BD13,200 for the LTZ model. For details, contact National Motors on 17457100.
