Gulf Weekly Pretty in pink saving fils

GULFWEEEKLY’S Camille Jones has a nose for a bargain and we’ve let her loose around the towns and villages of Bahrain, the malls and the tiny independent outlets, looking to save our family of readers a purse full of dinars and fils by the time she has finished. Catch up with expat Camille’s cost-saving conquests each Wednesday.

If you thought blush was just for cheeks you would be wrong because during my visit to Flawless Beauty Salon in Hoora I had my feet blushed.

I asked the beautician what she was spraying on my feet. “That’s foot blush. ma’am,” she explained. Foot blush? But my feet are already pink!

I felt like a real-life Japanimation character. All I needed was a starburst behind me and the scene was set to display total confusion. OK, an added aesthetic, not a clever marketing ploy for leading people to the salon with pink footprints. After a while it actually grew on me and now my feet will not go un-blushed!

It was heaven as my colleague Bambi and I received a mani/pedi and eyebrow threading for a mere BD5. Now that’s a bargain over your lunch hour.

Flawless Beauty Salon is holding 50 per cent off on all beauty treatments until the end of Ramadan. Call 77005586 for Sonia or Evelyn.

Boots Pharmacy is a staple for many and I just love the popular UK beauty line ‘Soap and Glory’ that it carries. With their cheeky product names like The Fill Monty facial line filler or Make Yourself Youthful serums, you can get a snicker in too.

I ran into Chantelle who was here in Bahrain for a relaxing weekend and to stock up on her essentials she took advantage of the sale. Until July 22 Boots is running a sale on skincare ‘Buy 3 for 2’(translated buy two and get one free). Way more beauty bang for your dinars!

In Body Shop when you spend BD20 you receive one of its fast moving black liquid eyeliner products free. As Bambi tried on some of the eyeliner I went over to view all the strawberry products. They are running buy one and get one free on the whole ‘Strawberry Range’ which includes all the lotions, gels, body sprays and soap products. It is the company’s most popular product. I am also a huge fan of their BD1.5 ‘Mini-wonders’ stand that houses all sorts of goodies. Needless to say I felt like Strawberry Shortcake after I left.

At Red Tag it is the perfect time to get your dose of fashion, plus value. The store has launched its Ramadan Kareem line so I went to check it out.

I saw a young girl choosing from the assortment of party dresses. Golden tulle, satin ribbon, frills, sequins and silk bows adorned these treasured tresses that would make any little girl feel like a princess.

She found a dress in her size 6-7 years for BD6.5. In the boys section I paired a pink striped navy blue tie with a baby blue cotton long sleeve shirt and dark blue denim jeans all for under BD10.

Another very popular section in Red Tag is the ‘Superhero’ section and there is no item over BD5.9. Pyjama sets for BD 3.5 with your choice of Ironman, Batman or Superman items. You will feel like a hero leaving with these bargains.

Details of above: Red Tag Kareem line available all Ramadan – all locations.

Boots Pharmacy: Buy 2 and get 1 free on all skincare products until July 22.

Body Shop: Buy 1 and get one free on the whole ‘Strawberry Range’, spend BD20 and receive free black eyeliner.

Flawless Beauty Salon: 50 per cent off all treatments until the end of Ramadan.
