The Academy of Performing Arts at the British School of Bahrain (BSB) is opening its new dance programme next week.
Working alongside the drama and music programme the academy will now be offering dance classes in ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, acrobatics, music theatre, body conditioning and commercial theatre as well as classes for tiny tots.
Professional choreographer and dancer Louise Chapman is an IDTA-recognised teacher and therefore the academy will become an examining centre for IDTA dance exams in addition to being a centre for ABRSM and Trinity Music Examinations and now LAMDA speech and drama examinations as well.
As a special introductory offer the new dance school will be running all of its Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday classes for free. GPIC has made a donation to Salmaniya Medical Centre (SMC) of a range of medical books and modern reference texts.
These works will support and enrich the Department of Pathology and the Haematology and Oncology centres.
Dr Das Najala, medical advisor in biochemistry thanked Abdulrahman Jawahery, president of GPIC, for the generous donation, which included an important set of medical books badly needed by the Department of Pathology.
