From now on, meetings bookers can offset the carbon (CO2) emissions caused by their meetings at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence & Spa, which makes the hotel the first in Bahrain to promote offsetting of carbon dioxide emissions.
The CO2 Offset programme ‘Club Carlson for planners’ will offset the carbon footprint of its bookers’ meetings. Carbon credits will be purchased from a Verified Carbon Standard wind farm in India combined with a tree-buddying programme in Kenya – one tree planted for every ton CO2, to balance out the equivalent CO2 associated with meetings and to make meetings 100 per cent carbon neutral.
‘Meetings minus carbon’ is part of the Radisson Blu Responsible Business programme (Think Planet), which supports global environmental initiatives.
