I don’t wear or even own a watch because I always lose them. I have just come to accept this and don’t buy them anymore. I have owned so many nice ones too and every time I received one as a gift or bought one I would say the same thing to myself: “I love this watch … so nice to have the time handy, so beautiful, I’m going to keep this one for sure.”
I always had good intentions and then, mysteriously, it vanished. Grrrrrrrr! I’m thinking now it’s psychological and it has become a self-fulfilling prophecy and I just subconsciously sabotage the ability to keep ‘timely’.
However, I may just give it another shot because Swatch has some great prices. I was chatting with the sales associate and he pointed me to a new trend with the younger folk.
Teens are wearing watches called the ‘Lady Double’. These watches have a small face with long, slim silicone straps that wrap twice around the wrist. They come in some really cool colours like acid green, electric blue, neon pink, cobalt blue and even some prints like denim and suede. The price is great at BD19.500.
With a two-year international warrantee and a BD17.750 price, you can also purchase a variety of children’s Swatch watches adorably named ‘Flik Flaks’. Flik for boys and Flak for girls. They come in variety of options including Hello Kitty, Minnie Mouse, Spiderman and other ‘kiddy’ themes. It is a great way to help teach a child how to tell the time.
Hour Choice, which carries a variety of international watch brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Cat, Juicy Couture, Dolce and Gabbana and Timex, are now having a part-sale until November 5. This is worth checking out if you can find the ‘time’ and could use a stylish upgrade this autumn.
The cooler temperature in the evenings is now conducive for comfortable strolls or sporty runs so why not break in a new pair of trainers from Sketchers?
Sketchers are holding a sale until the end of the month on a variety of footwear. Right now you can pick up men’s, ladies and children’s shoes at a discounted rate. When I stopped by Sketchers in Bahrain City Centre I noticed some great deals on Ladies ‘Resistance’ sport shoes regularly priced from BD48 down to BD32 and BD28 down to BD20. Best Deal: Men’s ‘Resistance’ sport shoe in black regular BD56 down to BD30.
Bench is the place to go for fun and funky graphic T-shirts right now. I found 29-year-old shopper Fahaad hunting for some ‘new threads to throw on’. He said he needed to add to his wardrobe and was not disappointed with the variety or the prices, such as BD6.7 down to BD4.600 on men’s graphic casual shirts until the end of October.
