More than 185,000 visitors are expected to flock to the Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Centre for The Autumn Fair 2014.
It was opened on Monday under the patronage of Dr Hassan Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce and chairman of Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority, although the official opening ceremony took place yesterday.
The event is one of the largest trade fairs held annually at the centre and this year has attracted 750 exhibitors from 21 countries, compared to 700 last year, with a variety of items at competitive prices on sale ranging from food to fashion and electrical goods. There are 121 Bahraini companies amongst the mix.
The Autumn Fair is spread over an area of 14,800sq/m in three halls and runs until January 29.
Organisers are expecting a large number of shoppers from neighbouring countries, in particular Saudi Arabia, and traffic around Sanabis is likely to be heavy.
