Afternoon tea, bad weather and royal weddings are just a few of the things the Brits are known for. Oh, and those cute dainty cucumber sandwiches with no crust, just saying.
In honour of GREAT British Week, I’ve decided to focus this article on a couple of the UK’s top exports here in Bahrain, which thankfully is a lot more exciting than a lukewarm cuppa.
F&F, which stands for Florence and Fred, is an international brand that carries men, women and children’s clothing and was once exclusively sold in Tesco, a popular UK supermarket chain.
It is currently holding a 70 per cent off sale right now and has some great deals. Ladies sleeveless dresses are being snapped up for as low as BD5. I saw some in cream and lace, cobalt blue and lace, black and white printed polyester and just solid coloured tailored shells down to BD5.900 from BD19.900. Throw one of these on with a cardigan and you have a lovely outfit for work, brunch or an afternoon BBQ. The quality at F&F is superb.
If you are looking for a simple black skirt they have some with belts reduced down to only BD2.800 from BD9.900 and ladies scoop-neck long-sleeve T-shirts in rose, black, purple and light cobalt blue for only BD3.300. You could wear these with a long necklace and a pair of trousers for a simple casual look.
My ‘deal of the week’ goes to their purple cashmere cardigans regularly priced at BD37.900 and down to only BD10.600. My mum would buy two of these because they are timeless and, of course, cashmere.
“We found something for your birthday,” chimed my boys after a visit to The Bookcase Gifts in Seef Mall last week. They raved about how I would really like this store because it was full of ‘stuff I like’. I became inquisitive and let them lead the way on Saturday morning.
I felt like I was stepping into a secret garden full of pixies and fairies. I was enchanted by their exclusive ‘Shrieking Violet’ flower jewellery collection, absolutely stunning.
Real flowers grown by master gardeners have been briefly dried and set in resin and sterling silver. If you are looking for a Valentine’s Day gift for that special ‘someone’ you will find it here.
I was also fond of some mixed flower tear-dropped earrings for BD14.500 and a daisy round pendant for BD16.500. For only BD1.900 you can buy a personalised gemstone bracelet or for BD1.500 ‘Nature’s Gift’ earrings that are set with rocks and minerals from around the world.
Looking for a night out and fancy the possibility of winning something fashionable? Head to Pink Friday Event at Bushido and enter its draw because the prizes this month are from Emporio Armani and are for both genders. ‘His’ prize is an Emporio Armani dog-tag necklace and ‘Hers’ an Armani handbag.
