Every year, to mark International Women’s Day on March 8, L’Occitane creates a solidarity soap to pay tribute to the women of Burkina Faso. It was this area of West Africa that the founder of L’Occitane, Olivier Baussan, first discovered shea butter, which is a main ingredient in many beauty products.

For BD2 you can purchase a milk-scented shea butter soap with a special design symbolising ‘joy’ among women. All profits will go to organisations promoting women’s entrepreneurship through various literacy and income-generating programmes.

Due to these programmes funded by L’Occitane more than 830 women have reaped the benefits of the 14 centres which help train and ensure their professional development. A good price for a good cause.
