Beautiful warm weather welcomed the start of the Dilmun Riding Stables Equestrian weekend.
First on Friday’s agenda was the Working Equitation which is an extremely popular and fun class to kickstart a dressage career.

Doing exceptionally well were Ella and Freya Nicklin, along with Anya Shaw and Coco De Souza, certainly names to look out for in the coming years. However, it was Danielle Shaw, astride her new mount Oscar, that claimed victory, gallantly followed into second place by Clare Walsh riding Jandool, with Maud Tinsley and BamBam clinching third position.

Preliminary 7 class followed with Clare and Jandool coming into their own performing a lovely round to claim the top prize. Hot on their hooves were Lisa Powick and Tayar in runner-up position with Anne Dunlop steering Darius into third place.

Novice 21, the final class of the morning, saw Anne riding Darius take top position. Lisa and Tayar claimed the runner-up slot and taking third prize was Sam Bayliss, on her second mount of the day, the stunning Shummar.

Having their work cut out for them were judges Carina Abdulrahman and Abigail Peck.

Everyone was back to the Dilmun Stables on Saturday, eager and champing at the bit for a show jumping morning.

Proceedings started with the hugely popular Treasure Hunt where riders cleared as many jumps as they could in one minute, each fence worth a secret amount. Winning this class with style and aplomb was Gabby Scopes riding Inca.

In joint second place came Georgia Sim on Nelson and Salina Williams with Inca.

Bringing the weekend to a close, the final mixed show jumping class was a tricky course, and certainly tested both horse and rider skills and dexterity.

Georgia, riding the talented Tess, claimed the top position and took home the trophy. Clinching runners-up spot was Dawood Salman, astride his lovely horse Sky.

The day saw six of the Dilmun Stables riders take their first steps into show jumping. Salina, taking part after just one jumping lesson the previous week, certainly has the bug.

Also taking the plunge were Kristen Rogers, Julia and Coco De Souza alongside Ruth Teague and Lizzie Caine, all had a fantastic first show with all the riders eagerly looking forward to the next event. The Dilmun Stables thanked visiting riders, Dawood, Ulrika, Emilie and Sam for attending over the weekend.
