Mona Almoayyed, managing director of Y K Almoayyed & Sons, is the only Bahraini woman to be included in the prestigious 100 most powerful Arab women by the Arabian Business Magazine.
She has been ranked 86th in the powerful list that comprises 100 women from the Arab peninsula, including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon and Tunisia.
This honour adds to the many accolades she has been awarded in recent times. Ms Almoayyed was in 2013 ranked third on the most influential Arab Women’s List in the MENA region by Forbes Middle East.
Ms Almoayyed, past president of the Bahrain Businesswoman’s Society, said: “I am humbled to be in this list representing the beautiful Kingdom of Bahrain. I do hope this commendation inspires the talented hardworking business womenfolk of Bahrain, who have so much to offer to the world.”
She currently manages to juggle a vast array of business and altruistic pursuits and has been instrumental in the growth and success of Y K Almoayyed & Sons, a firm founded by her father.
Ms Almoayyed is also well known for her contribution to social causes in Bahrain, evident through her work for the Migrant Workers Protection Society and Al Muntada Society. She is also the board of many charitable institutions and NGOs.
