Wayne Giles and playing partner Murtuz Zamanly narrowly won the second competition of a new African & Eastern Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club (RGC) with 24 points after the countback system was used to separate them from the duo of Mohamed Akeel and Iftikhar Butt who also achieved 24 points. It was a highly successful night for Giles who also won both nearest to the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16. Sauban Bin Rais and Abdulrahman Al Amer won third place in the greensomes competition with 23 points on countback and Alan Vandewater and Andrew Wyman were fourth, also with 23 points. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee off every Monday with a 6.30pm shotgun start.
