Gulf Weekly Taimur’s hat-trick

Promising youngster Taimur Malik narrowly won the fourth Junior Elite competition in the VIVA Junior Saturday Series at the Royal Golf Club for the third consecutive time. The 12-year-old, who was featured by GulfWeekly as a nine-year-old up-and-coming golfer, achieved a score of 29 edging runner-up Ali Babtain who had a score of 30.
 
In the Junior Academy category, designed for young golfers new to the game, Ali Mohamed Alkowari clinched first place with a score of 26 and Eid Adel came second on 28.

Malik earlier won the third Junior Elite competition with a score of 27 beating runner-up Saud Al Sharif on countback.

In the Junior Academy category, Eid Adel bagged top spot with a score of 26 and Ali Ahmed came second on 29.

VIVA, one of the Royal Golf Club’s valued partners, has come on board as the title sponsor of the series which has been designed with a view to encouraging young golfers to engage in competitive play.

Third Junior Elite: 1 Taimur Malik (27), 2 Saud Al Sharif (27), 3 Daij Khalifa (29). Junior Academy: 1 Eid Adel (26), 2 Ali Ahmed (29), 3 Hassan Ahmed (50).
