Being his second stint in Bahrain, Elias J Maukarzel isn’t new to the kingdom’s hotel scenario. Prior to this, he was the assistant food and beverages manager of Sheraton Jumeirah Beach in Dubai.
“I was with Crowne Plaza for two and a half years before I left for Dubai. I worked as the restaurant manager and was involved with the opening of the Waves in Crowne Plaza.”
He has done his hotel management from the Ecole Hoteliere De Toulouse and then completed his Masters in Business Administration
specialising in hotel Management from the Ecole Superieure De Savignac, both in France.
According to him, “Mövenpick is a very cozy and the only boutique style hotel. It is also trendier than most hotels here in Bahrain. At Movenpick we mainly cater to business travellers along with our local clientele — expatriates and Bahrainis.”
“For Ramadan, we have an iftar buffet lined up at the Silk’s restaurant. The poolside offers sheesha of various flavours, fruit juices, as well as gagbha for 50 to 500 people. As for later on, our major plans for this year includes the opening of the grand ballroom, which is to be the trendiest and the most stylish Bahrain has yet seen. It will be able to accommodate up to 300 people. After Ramadan, we have plans for an exciting Christmas and New Year season too. We are planning on various new themes and new bands,” he adds.
He concludes that he wishes to see Mövenpick race ahead to being the best provider of quality service in Bahrain and the Middle East. For the moment he is focusing on keeping the high standards alive and is extremely confident that the hotel is way ahead of others reaching its pinnacle.
