It seems the UK papers have found a new person to have ago at after Jade Goody.
This time they’re on the attack against “Princess Trudie” — as in Trudie Styler, wife of Sting.
Five days into promoting her lastest film (who even knew she was an actress?) A Guide to Recognising Your Saints they have decided to paint her as an over ambitious witch that has left her family behind in the dust.
They [The Daily Mail] talk about her rise above her humble beginnings, saying the life she has created is “far removed from the one in which she grew up and longed to escape.” Her mother is said to have been “the original Hyacinth Bucket. She made them velvet dresses and they wore hats and gloves and were taken to the tea-rooms in Bromsgrove”. But the lifestyle regarded by Trudie’s Stoke Prior friends was never going to be enough for the ‘little princess’ propelled onwards and upwards by her socially ambitious mother”
What I don’t understand is why this is a story in the first place. Where exactly is the problem in trying to make a better life for yourself and your family? Why should people just be satisfied with living the lives they were born into?
The entire thing seems like a complete waste of paper if you ask me. It’s journalism at its worst, making a story out of nothing and vilifying someone that lives a better life than the person who wrote it.
