The streets of Bahrain will now play host to the C30 ... with a personal presentation from Volvo.
This new car releases up to 230 horsepower and is likely to be popular with the 25 to 35 age group. It certainly takes personalisation to a new level. The body kit can be combined with a lowered sport chassis and 18" wheels.
The C30 was launched at the Motorcity Volvo Showroom in Sitra. Available in many colours, it creates a wide range of possibilities for giving it individual style such as Cosmic White Pearl exterior, equipped with a Brown Java Pearl body kit.
The two-door compact model will be available in a new exterior colour scheme such as Gecko Green Pearl, Matt Gold Pearl or Chameleon Blue Pearl.
The maker's bid to give the model a "hip and trendy attitude" is further highlighted by the impressively large rear window, the only model in its segment to include such a feature.
Chris Edwards, general manager of Motorcity said: "We expect the Volvo C30 to make us more accessible to younger audiences.
"This is a perfect marriage of sport, beauty, comfort and safety. This car incorporates the latest safety features such as the SIPS (Side Impact Protection System), ABS, EBD, 8 Airbags and WHIPS (Whiplash Protection System). This is part of a policy of encouraging safe driving."
There is also a range of three high-end audio systems: Performance, High Performance and Premium Sound will be available. These different systems will offer the possibility to play different music formats such as MP3 and WMA files.
An adaptor to plug in auxiliary devices like iPods or flash drives will also be included amongst the many options of the C30.
Keeping in mind Volvo's concern for the environment the new model also features a filter system through which the air entering the car is filtered.
The new Volvo is available in three versions in the Middle East, T5 (2.5 litres) Turbo charged engine, 2.4i and 1.6.
Speaking on the occasion, Raghunath Nair, brand manager, Motorcity said, "With the new C30, Volvo makes its debut in the segment for two-door premium cars. The sporty design, aims to give a young and dynamic group of customers "a Volvo of their own".
