¥ A Bahraini women exhibition - The Right to Space at the Al Riwaq Gallery in Adliya until April 1. Algerian artist Hamza Bounoua is showcasing his paintings at the Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya. His work has an ethnic influence and uses repeated symbols and patterns against a white background while drawing figures in black. The 10-day long exhibition ends today. For details contact 17717707.

Popular Indian artists are set ot perform at The Indian Club in Gudaibya from 7.30pm. Artists from South India including actors Jyothirmai, Yamini Sharma, Vineeth Kumar; singers Jyotsana, Ajay, Nideesh and comedian Baiju will be performing at the event accompanied by a live orchestra and six dancers. ¥ One hundred ethnic masks from South America, Africa and Asia are on display at the Bahrain National Museum.

Masks - Beauty of the Spirits from the MusŽe du Quai Branly in Paris has been specially created for the show.

It will explain how different world cultures manifest their religious and spiritual beliefs as well as social and political realities.

The exhibition design was conceived by Massimo Quendolo, a Paris-based designer and architect.

The exhibition runs until June 30 and will also feature guided family tours on Saturdays, mask making workshops and a lecture programme.

¥ An Australian Aboriginal art exhibition will be held at the La Fontaine Centre for Contemporary Art in Manama. Art is one of the key rituals of Aboriginal culture and is used to mark territory and record history. The exhibition will feature aboriginal art from Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Association (WAAA) in Yuendumu, Australia. The second Perrier Chillout Festival will be held at the Madinat Jumeirah Amphitheatre, Dubai, on the March 13 and 14.

The event will feature leading artists, live acts, DJs, VJs and MCs including performances by Richard Dorfmeister (Kruder & Dorfmeister) from Austria, REG Project (Buddha Bar) from Lebanon, Jalebee Cartel from India, Furat Qasri (a collective of musicians from middle east and Europe) presented by DAXAR Music, as well as Dubai's own Abstrakt Collision.

Also performing will be DJ Andy Smith (Portishead) from UK, Michael Reinboth (Compost Records) from Germany and Pierre Ravan. The lineup also features MC Earl Zinger and Ras MC T-Weed as well as visual support from VJ Fritz Fitzke (Austria) and VJ Aranka (NYC).

The festival is an all-ages event. It will be held from 6pm to midnight on Thursday and 4pm to midnight on Friday. Curtain call for colourful musicals

Once those red drapes swing open on March 14 a night of music, songs and theatrics from award-winning West End and Broadway shows awaits music-lovers.

Tickets are selling fast for the Manama Singers 'In The Spotlight 'concerts which will feature highlights from Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Guys and Dolls and West Side Story.

Both the 4.30pm and 8pm concerts will feature soloists from within the choir and will include song, music and drama.
