Dear Stan, Gulf City Cleaning Services and Sphinx Cleaning Services Company/AMA International (GESENU Group) have released a set of guidelines which they are encouraging everyone in Bahrain to follow, in order to help maintain cleaner streets in the kingdom's towns and villages.
The guidelines are the first step in encouraging people to support the 'Love Bahrain Litter Free' campaign and, if followed by all, will make for a much cleaner environment in the country.
1. PUT LITTER IN THE BIN! - Do not throw litter randomly beside the bin - please place it securely inside a bin and ensure the lid is on - This avoids unwanted scavengers.
2. BE AWARE OF DAILY COLLECTIONS - To avoid litter lying around for some time and creating unwanted odours.
3. SWEEP OUT & BIN IT - If you are sweeping out a home or retail premises then collect the swept up material and put in it the bin also. Don't sweep your rubbish or dust onto the streets.
4. DON'T THROW LITTER FROM CARS - Please take care of the environment and ensure that you have a bag for waste inside your car.
5. IN PUBLIC PLACES - Be a friend of the 'Love Bahrain Litter Free' campaign and ensure that your rubbish goes in a bin. Even if you are out at the beach or on a picnic, ensure that you take your rubbish home and put it in the bin.
6. COUNTRYSIDE PROTECTION - Avoid danger to wildlife. When taking a walk in the local beauty areas, ensure that you do not leave your litter behind. Take it with you and then ... you've got it ... 'Put it in the bin'.
7. BE RESPONSIBLE - Put all of your litter in a bin and encourage others to do so to ensure a clean and healthy environment in our towns and villages.

Dear Stan,
Thanks so much for the nice piece (GulfWeekly, April 1 - 7) on the American Women's Association's art exhibition. We appreciated Anasuya's time and expertise in interviewing us and writing an informative article. Thank you for helping us to promote our event.
Adrienne Henzel, AWA.
Dear Stan,
I just love Marie-Claire's column. I appreciate the work she is doing - her views are really an eye opener for me and thousands of other people in Bahrain. Keep up the good work. By the way she looks like an actress in her picture!
Jonathan Paul, by email.
