I call it the forgotten vitamin. Vitamin D deficiency is very prevalent in the Middle East in spite of the abundance of sunshine.
We are afraid of the sun maybe because it’s so hot. But also because the culture is conservative a lot of people are covered when they’re in the sun so they don’t get enough of their skin exposed in order to get the vital vitamin.
You need your skin exposed to the sun because that’s the only way the body will produce Vitamin D. Make sure you get at least 20 minutes of sun exposure each day. Avoid midday sun so you don’t burn, but any other time is fine.
Vitamin D is a main pillar of immunity and it plays a big role in the health of the nervous system as well as muscles. Once you see the difference with Vitamin D you’ll wonder how you lived without it.
