DIYAR Al Muharraq, one of Bahrain's largest mixed-use residential urban developments, hosted Bahrain's leading property development professionals in a high level meeting to agree upon forming a representative organisation, with a vision to be the kingdom's internationally-recognised property development association.
The meeting was attended by 17 CEOs and senior management officials from major development companies. Named the Bahrain Property Development Association (BAPDA), the association aims to foster infrastructure services, co-operation, fair trade practices and integrity among its members and will further be a platform for its members to liaise with government authorities in forming 'best practice' policies relating to the industry.
Aaref Hejres, CEO of Diyar Al Muharraq said: "The Bahrain Property Development Association will be the first of its kind in Bahrain and will initially work towards forming amicable business ties among the members along with a specific focus on various pertinent issues like eco-friendly construction, green building construction concepts, productivity and quality optimisation.
"All of us have unanimously agreed upon forming BAPDA. Upon approval from the Ministry of Social Development and commencement of operations, it will surely be a turning point for the development industry in Bahrain."
The Association will be actively involved in establishing a research Centre that will serve as a common database for compiling, managing and efficiently exchanging relevant research data alongsie other industry statistics.
The members also aim to promote activities like educational development and professional development.
