Bahraini golfers dominated the men’s sections of this month’s DHL Order of Merit competition at the Royal Golf Club, winning five out of the top six places.
Abdulla Al Hakam clinched first place in the men’s gross category with a score of 71. Briton Ronan Armstrong narrowly took the runners-up spot with 72 on countback and Saqer Al Noaimi was third, also with 72.
Al Noaimi’s nett score of 70 was enough to give him a win in the nett division and scratch player Al Hakam came second on countback followed by Khalifa Al Merisi with nett 71.
Hanne Hansen won the ladies gross division with a score of 95, while Samantha Hill’s nett score of 79 gave her the win in the nett division.
Yaseen Le Falher won the junior category with a score of 74 nett. Last month’s winner, Eid Adel Meftah, was runner-up this time with 75 and Ali Al Kowari came third, also on 75 nett.
The competition was the ninth and final qualifying round of the DHL Order of Merit. The qualifiers will now go on to compete in the match play stages of the series which get underway on September 25 & 26.
