NBC’s new hit fairy-tale drama Grimm has been granted a full-season order and will receive a special Thursday night airing in the US next month, the network has announced. So watch out for a scramble of broadcasters seeking to bring it to our screens in Bahrain shortly.

Set in the present day, the series puts a new twist on the stories of the Brothers Grimm. The show’s main character Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) is a homicide detective who learns that he is a descendent of a group of hunters known as Grimms, who fight to keep humanity safe from supernatural creatures. Upon learning of his destiny, he has to protect every living soul from the sinister storybook characters that have infiltrated the real world.

In what might be an experiment to test the waters for the series in a new time slot, NBC will air an original episode of the show on December 8 at 10pm, followed by another original episode the next night in its regular time slot, Friday at 9pm.
