ACE biker Bradley Smith thrilled children in Years 5 & 6 with a flying visit to St Christopher’s School in Saar to talk about his career in professional motorcycling and the joys of competing at the highest level of the sport.

After being introduced by presenter Stevie George, he also highlighted road safety issues to the packed assembly of riveted students before triggering the adrenalin with the mighty roar of the machine’s engines.

The 22-year-old has been putting his talents to the test on various bikes at the Bahrain International Circuit before the opening round of the 2013 MotorGP World Championship kicks off in Qatar in April.

The trip to school was organised by parent governor David Axtell who said: “Bradley was very impressed with the youngsters and hopes he has helped inspire a few to follow the action this coming season.”

Head of Junior School Wendy Bataineh said: “It was an inspiring and thought-provoking assembly that was enjoyed by pupils and staff alike.

“Bradley spoke well and addressed very pertinent issues such as safety, health and fitness and the crucial role of regular practice and the importance of hard work in developing excellence. It was a brilliant life skills assembly as well as being interesting with respect to motorcycling.”
