Kit Kat Arabia has organised the Kit Kat Comedy Break competition in search of the funniest Arab comedian across the region. The 2013 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, the annual festival of top-class motorsport and entertainment takes place on April 19 - 21 at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
The line-up of entertainment at the Village located behind BIC’s Main Grandstand will feature the Calpulli Mexican Dance Group, pictured below, who will perform traditional Mexican dances wearing Aztec numbers.
The Bhangra Empire will also perform with 12 dancers dressed in traditional Punjabi clothing taking to the stage with a modern energetic version of Bhangra style dancing.
Angelo and the Crazy Feet, a group of 12 dancers performing tap dance, and Talija, a leading folk dance and music group, will also perform.
A Chinese Lion Dance where five people portraying different parts of the lion made of Chinese silk will also showcase their dancing abilities. Mugenko Taiko Drummers are set to keep the beat alive by using ancient Japanese forms of percussion and martial arts-style movement.
The Mariachi Jalisco will perform traditional Mexican folk music dressed in native costume.
Menoufia Folk Art will be performing Tannoura dances and traditional Egyptian dances including Fellaha, Saidi, Zaffa, Iskandrani and Noupa.
Bagpipe Roy from Scotland will also be present as will Pedro, the hang drum player.
Pauliteiros de Palacoulo will enthrall audiences with a fighting dance style straight from Portugal and Circo Rum Ba Ba, a women’s circus theatre company, will also set the stage alight with their thrilling routines. Classical carnival style stilt walkers will also be present.
One of the main features of the Formula 1 Village will be the children’s entertainment area. The Kid’s Jungle Tent will include Black Angels, a group of Kenyan artists combining music, dance and acrobatics, the Marimba Band, a percussion band from South Africa and the Jungle Theatre Show. The Sling Shot or Bungee Rocket will also be available where two brave riders are catapulted high up into the air and the Camel Explorers will also provide a fun yet baffling illusion where two ‘explorers’ will trick people into thinking they are riding a camel.
