Morag from Manama

It’s certainly been blowing a hoolie in Bahrain! Temperatures dropped dramatically, at one point lower than London!

Snowmageddon was announced in New York when their second largest winter storm in history wreaked havoc last month. Severe flood warnings were announced up and down the breadth of Britain, resulting in heavy flooding driving families out of their homes, leaving total devastation in its path.

Here I was foolishly thinking global warming was heating up the planet. I’m not going to moan though, especially since a good friend has taken to calling me ‘Moaning Morag’ hmmmm!

No, instead, I have been embracing the cooler climes of Bahrain and wrapping up in my beloved winter woolies, coat and boots – not a flip-flop in sight.

There is a row of abandoned anti-frizz hair products gathering dust in my bathroom as my tresses relax without the presence of heat and humidity. I confidently apply cosmetics, with the knowledge that they won’t slide off my face as soon as I leave the house.

The husband mentioned, I was looking younger – should I be worried? After all, we have been snuggling up on the sofa under our blankets in the evenings to keep warm … although, our all-in-one matching furry ‘one-sies’ may be a romance breaker!

Until our wee island warms up, I’m off to fill up the hot water bottles.
