ONE of the Whisperer’s friends attended a debut public dance performance (Arangetram) of a friend’s two daughters at the Indian School Bahrain’s Jashanmal Auditorium.

There were eight little girls, aged between nine and 13, whose big day it was in front of an audience of 250-strong after being tutored for four years at Kalabhavan Arts - Bahrain.

With a well-lit stage and a great background, the young dancers performed well. However, how sad it was to note the behaviour of some members of the audience who were too busy chatting away with friends to enjoy the show, as well as taking selfies, posing for photographs and being totally ignorant of the fact that they were causing a disturbance to other parents and supporters, as well as the children trying their hardest to impress under the spotlight.

There was one man who also insisted on video recording part of the performance on his mobile phone, blocking the view of all those behind him.

Consideration for others costs nothing.
