THERE were some mysterious goings on in the vicinity of Jid Al Haj recently when a rather special selection of handmade Chinese prawn dumplings ‘disappeared’ from a well-known establishment. Eye witnesses have purported that this could have been the work of a rather grizzly Canadian who was spotted in the car park with a very similar looking carrier bag although that would seem unlikely on the face of it given the more traditionally-favoured tastes for road-kill deer and kamikaze salmon. They are now describing the affair as the ‘Dumpling-Gate Scandal’ and it is sure to unfold in the coming days.
