Al Fudhala lifts trophy

Cold and blustery conditions marked the annual running of the WHC ‘Bill’ Brien Trophy at Awali Golf Club, won by Mohammed Khalifa Al Fudhala with a worthy 39 points.

This is the 25th year of the WHC Brien Trophy, which started in the 1991/92 season when Bill put forward the sponsorship.

Bill, who died in 2007, was one of the stalwarts of the club in his day and, in his honour, the competition continues, now sponsored by the club. The format is 18-holes Stableford.

Prizes were presented by club captain Bill Scarth. Tournament director was the newly-appointed vice-captain, Kerry Diaper.
