Can you explain why some newspapers claim that Pedro de la Rosa holds the BIC lap record (1:31.447 in 2005) when Michael Schumacher’s 1:30.252 lap in 2004 was faster?

He said: “Pedro de la Rosa’s 2005 lap record set in a McLaren MP4/20 is more than a second slower than Schumacher’s fastest lap for Ferrari. The discrepancy is due to kerbs being realigned at Turn Four, changing the racing line sufficiently for the revision to be considered a new track layout.”

THE BSPCA Thrift Shop located in Budaiya now has extended its opening hours. New and nearly-new clothing, DVDs and many other items are available at low prices.

The Thrift Shop is the main source of income and all funds go towards caring for the animals at our Animal Welfare Center (AWC) in Askar and continuing the free CNVR programmes for compound cats and stray dogs.

The new extended hours are:
Sunday 2pm-5pm, Monday & Tuesday 9am-5pm, Wednesday closed, Thursday & Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday noon-5pm.

Donation of goods is accepted anytime. Drop them at the front of the shop in the big white bin, or, bring them inside during opening hours. Location: 6 Busheiri Gardens in Budaiya (Tel: 17593479).
