The new Ferrari 488 Spider was unveiled by dealers Euro Motors in spectacular fashion at the Sofitel Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, as the marque’s Formula 1 driver Kimi Raikkonen and F1 Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene pulled back the cloth on the latest model last Thursday evening.
The 488 Spider is an open-top V8 with a RHT (retractable hard top), around which the entire car was developed. This system is not only 25kg lighter, but also provides better protection from noise and the elements.
Of course, with a car of this type, the power unit is scrutinised. There should be no fears here, as the 3,902cc turbo-charged V8 provides an output of 661BHP and 760Nm of torque, with a sprint from 0-100kmph achievable in three seconds flat.
