The annual golf tournament held at the Royal Golf Club in remembrance of all the people who died in the Al Dana Dhow tragedy has raised BD150. The money will be used by the Christian Community Cemetery Committee (CCCC) to support the upkeep of a memorial headstone.
The event was organised by The Royalists Golf Society and the money was raised by donations from the participants.
The 2016 Al Dana Memorial Trophy was won by Ronan Armstrong with a nett score of 73. Dagfrid Berge was runner-up with 74 nett and 2016 gent’s Club Captain Jason Smith came third on 75 nett.
Nearest the pin side contests on all the par 3 holes on the Montgomerie championship course were won by Hanne Hansen (hole 2), Rob Lane (hole 7), Steven Hill (hole 12) and Nils Berge (hole 16).
