Find your rhythm

At the start of a practice session and also warming up on the day of competition will require a player to find their rhythm quickly.

A good way to banish mechanical swing thoughts and to find your ideal tempo of swing is to try the four-ball drill.

Line four balls up about three inches apart and start with a wedge. The aim is to hit four shots with a half swing at a consistent speed without hesitation between the balls.

Try a couple of runs, then progress to a 3/4 swing and then to a full swing. As the swings get longer concentrate on the timing of the backswing to finish taking longer than the 1/2 swing. A great way to find your tempo for the day!
