The French School of Bahrain is presenting a Musical 2016 Show on May 19 at the Cultural Hall from 6.30pm. Directed by Sadaf Karim, it tells the story of a group of children auditioning for a part in a new school musical and competing against each other at all costs. The Manama Singers are hosting two events at the British Club of Bahrain later this month. On May 27 and 28, they will perform a ‘Swing into Summer’ concert featuring jazz classics from 6.30pm on both evenings, while on May 27 they will stage a Disney Favourites Show from 4pm.

In anticipation of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain hosted an appreciation event for 200 of its partners and guests. The evening was held as part of a teaser campaign in unfolding the theme of Ramadan’s iftar and ghabga offerings at the property.
During the event, guests were able to sample the serene atmosphere created in the Gallery and Silks restaurant, where the Ramadan iftar buffet is set to take place in June.
A full set-up was prepared for the evening, starting from the majestic Al Murjan Ballroom to the outlets. As handlers explained the art of falconry, guests were welcomed to enjoy a sample of the food with international and traditional selections, as well as live music provided by an Oud player.
The Mövenpick iftar will feature dates and traditional juices such as Jallb, Kamar el deen, Tamarhindi followed by an extensive salad buffet with a wide variety of freshly-made mezza’s and greens.
Hot choices include Harees, Thareed, Moadrouba, freshly-grilled meats from the charcoal or live stations with shawarma, Ouzi and baked whole fish fetta.

As revealed in last week’s GulfWeekly, Skyler ‘Sky Blu’ Gordy, the 30-year-old, rapper, record producer, DJ and dancer, will be taking centre stage on May 19.
The gig was confirmed this week after months of negotiations. Najia A Zainal, the Elite Hospitality Group’s media and PR manager, said: “We are confident this event will be a huge hit with music-lovers. Sky Blu of LMFAO is a big name in the music game and we are excited to be bringing him to Bahrain for the first time. His music is popular, different and refreshing. DJ Sky Blu AKA the Party President and his LMFAO partner Redfoo seem to be in ‘splits-ville mode’, according to insiders, and are pursuing their own projects. The music man heading for Bahrain is still delivering nonstop beats which he says feature ‘a little rock, a little punk and a little crazy hip-hop’.
