I’ve been a regular reader of GulfWeekly since I reached Bahrain 10 years back.
I read almost everything inside it, as it gives me lots of information and joy.
One thing I’m addicted to is the Darn Tough Sudoku! It’s challenging and different than any other Sudoku I know and I even send a copy of it every week to my parents back home.
I was surprised that the space for it was minimised recently leaving hardly any space to work out the answers! I hope you can find a way to get Sudoku back to its old space and size.
Asma’ Qadri, by email.
Editor’s note: Normal service has been resumed … see Time Out on P16. Scores of readers enjoyed entering our contests to win brunch-for-two at Downtown Rotana. Last week’s winner was Olivia Braganza. There’ll be more prize competitions to come and we’ll find extra space to promote them without disturbing the Sudoku!
The Isa Award’s board of trustees’ campaign, Cherished Times with the Late Amir His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has ended on a high note with significant contributions received from regional and international entities and individuals.
With the conclusion of the campaign, the board in due course will be making arrangements to produce a new documentary highlighting the humanitarian achievements of His Highness the late Amir of Bahrain.
The documentary will be part of the agenda for the 3rd Isa Awards ceremony which is scheduled to take place in mid-2017, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, in the presence of Arab and international representatives from around the world.
On behalf of the board, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made their contributions to make this campaign a great success.
Ali Abdullah Khalifa, The award’s secretary general.
