Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain is inviting members of the public to participate in its Ramadan ‘A Kilo of Kindness’ community initiative.

Launched by parent company, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, the campaign aims to pair the generosity from the public with the needs of the less fortunate.

Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the hotel lobby from Monday to June 30.

Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain is supporting The Palm Association’s long-running Feed a Family charitable campaign.

Requested food items include:
Canned food: tuna, soup, fruit, vegetables
Dry food: rice, beans, oats, pasta, cereals, flour, powder milk, tea
Non-glass packaged food: olive oil, canola oil, honey
Baby food: milk formula, infant cereal

The Palm Association distributes approximately 155 food parcels to the value of BD20 every month to Bahraini families living in difficult circumstances.

The Movenpick Hotel Bahrain’s iftar will feature dates and traditional juices such as Jallb, Kamar el deen, Tamarhindi followed by an extensive salad buffet with a wide variety of freshly-made mezza’s and greens.

Hot choices include Harees, Thareed, Moadrouba, freshly-grilled meats from the charcoal or live stations with shawarma, Ouzi and baked whole fish fetta.

The vast dessert buffet includes Balasham, Konafa, Zounief al Siet, Um Ali and Bahraini Halwa and there will also be a large choice of cheeses.

The Gulf Hotel Bahrain will once again provide its popular Ramadan tent, Khaimat Al Khaleej, in addition to lavish iftar buffets featured daily at Al Waha Restaurant and Takht Jamsheed.

The iftar buffet, made up of the freshest local ingredients and traditional Arabic specialties, will be served daily at Al Waha Restaurant, while Iranian restaurant Takht Jamsheed will also be serving both Arabic and Persian delicacies every evening from sunset onwards. The buffet is priced at BD17++ per person in both restaurants.

Offerings include a selection of dates, refreshing juices, as well as hot and cold mezzeh with an enticing selection of salads, home-baked breads, shawarma and falafel. Furthermore, there is a wide variety of traditional Arabic dishes including Arabic quzi, thireed, harees and an array of Arabic desserts such as Um Ali, kunafa and mahalabiya.

This year, Rasoi by Vineet will offer an iftar ‘all you can eat’ set menu option for BD20 net per person. If you feel like dining in the comfort of your own home, you can take advantage of ‘iftar to go orders’ and enjoy favourites such as Samosa chat, Gilafi seekh kebab, Raan Lucknowi and the famous Rasoi Biryani. For those who wish to enjoy a late evening get-together with friends and family, the hotel’s Ramadan tent, Khaimat Al AKhaleej will be open every night from 9pm-2am Saturday through Wednesday, and from 9pm-3am on Thursdays and Fridays. Prices are BD16++ on weekdays and BD18++ on weekends, and guests can enjoy an extensive buffet of traditional Bahraini and Arabic specialties against a background of traditional Arabic music.

The Elite Resort & Spa is offering a variety of promotions throughout Ramadan in its Noor Tent, which offers views of the sea and a relaxing atmosphere by the pool. The iftar buffet costs BD9.900, ghabga with live entertainment costs BD12.500, while suhoor costs BD5.500.

This Ramadan, guests at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay can experience true hospitality at its Arabesque-themed Ramadan Tent.

An extravagant iftar buffet prepared by Executive Chef Stefano Andreoli and his culinary team features a selection of popular local fare in addition to Lebanese, Turkish, Moroccan, Indian and international cuisine prepared at live cooking stations.

At ghabga, guests are invited to enjoy a multicultural spread of dishes and desserts at the same venue, which also features a live band playing traditional tunes.

The iftar buffet at the Ramadan Tent, served from sunset until 8pm, is priced at BD25 including drinks. Ghabga is served from 9pm-2am, is priced at BD27, excluding drinks.

The Art Rotana Hotel & Resort in Amwaj Island is offering a choice of Ramadan promotions for guests. The first is the iftar and ghagba at Choices Restaurant. This features a wide range of traditional dishes and international offerings.

Iftar will take place from sunset to 8.30pm at BD17++ for adults and BD9++ for children. Ghabga takes place from 9.15pm to midnight costing BD19++ for adults and BD9++ for kids.

The Choices Terrace Ramadan, which will feature live Arabic music, as well as UEFA EURO 2016 match action on multiple screens and an a la carte menu costing BD15++. The outlet is open daily from 7.30pm-1.30am for adults only.

The Downtown Rotana in Manama is putting on a show for its first Ramadan offering. The hotel’s Al Maha Ballroom will feature traditional local delicacies and international cuisine, juices and desserts for BD14++ per person.

Early birds can get a 20 per cent discount if booked in May, and a 15 per cent discount if booked during the first two weeks of June for 10 people or more.

The Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa has announced its plans for the holy month. Its main Acacia ballroom will be transformed into a traditional Arabesque tent offering. A selection of local and international cuisine will be served in a buffet with live cooking stations too, priced BD12++ per person, from sunset until midnight.

Its Ruka Japanese Restaurant, located on the 24th floor, will open its doors from 7pm onwards to serve Japanese cuisine throughout Ramadan.

The Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa is once again setting up its Ramadan tent to celebrate the holy month. The resort will accommodate a spacious dining and lounge area combining entertainment in two different arenas, namely its Saraya Restaurant and Layali Al Zallaq.

The tent will offer the ambience of spending an Arabian Night ‘under the stars’ with a beautifully-decorated ceiling offering an expression of the night sky while the atmosphere of the tent remains cool, spacious and airy. Games such as playing cards, dominoes, chess and backgammon will be available.

The Bassam Deeb band will be performing classic, traditional Arabic music in the Ramadan tent from 10pm-1.30am. The tent will be fully supported by Sofitel Bahrain’s team of chefs, preparing a series of Iftar & Ghabga buffets.

Iftar and Ghabga prices are set at BD19++, and guests are advised to call the hotel on 17636363 to reserve in advance.

Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre’s Baharat restaurant will host an Iftar buffet with local favourites and fusions from the subcontinent. The cost is BD18++, with children aged between six and 12 dining for half price. Opening times are sunset until 8pm.

Afterwards, the same venue will hold a traditional Sohour buffet from 9pm-1am, with the cost also being BD18++.
