Her colorful Alice + Olivia Collection paid homage to NYC’s late 1970s downtown, art scene where rock ’n’ roll edge met geek chic glamour with a touch of soul.
Silhouettes range from strong suits to soft feminine embellished midi-skirts, beautifully-embroidered gowns, brocade shift-dresses, beaded bell bottoms and feminine bow-tie blouses. Sweet separates make layering look and feel effortless while adding an element of individuality.
The collection comes in a kaleidoscope of robust colours in autumnal jewel tones such as ruby, dark turquoise, mustard, cobalt blue and copper contrasted by dusty pink, charcoal and black. Dresses, trousers and other pieces are covered in intricate details like beadwork birds, butterflies and owls.
Shoe styles range from cool suede boots, T-strap Mary Jane’s to sultry slides. Suede colour-blocked bowling bags make for a rich addition to the collection.
Stacey’s contemporary clothing company, Alice + Olivia, named after her mum and her mum’s classmate, first came to the scene in 2002 when she made headlines with her signature low-rise, slim fitting trousers.
Her funky style, inspired by her love of music, art and culture has been worn by celebrity starlets such as Angelina Jolie, Katy Perry, Drew Barrymore and Gwyneth Paltrow.
