Fashion designer Adriana Iglesias’s silky silhouettes and gorgeous gowns are set to be unveiled in the kingdom today following an international launch.
Every day the Spanish mother counts her lucky stars that she is finally doing something she loves. Before pursuing her passion for fashion, the mother-of-two spent 15 years working as a telecommunications engineer.
Two years ago, she launched a capsule collection for her and daughters Paulina and Nicole and it received rave reviews and orders came flooding in.
Adriana said: “One day, more than two years ago now, I was at a point in my life where I wasn’t particularly enjoying my career and I was looking for a change that gave me the ability to express myself and my creativity, so I decided to produce a very personal capsule collection for me and my daughters.
“I have been in love with fashion all of my life. I enjoyed this so much! It was conveying myself and our lifestyle and I was fortunate that people had a great response to the collection and liked it very much. I decided to continue and since then I haven’t stopped.”
Herready-to-wear looks are now in global demand and can be snapped up in Jeddah, Monaco, Cannes, Madrid, Marbella, Dubai … and now A’ali.
“I hope that now that the Adriana Iglesias brand is stocked in Bahrain, that I will be able to expand my presence and brand awareness across the region,” Adriana added.
“I’m excited by the prospect of portraying the ethos of the brand in Bahrain– by providing designs that empower women and their sensuality.
“This collection aims to convey the femininity of women through the power and magnetic energy of the Mediterranean and the lavish beauty of The French Riviera. The premium quality, craftsmanship and bright-coloured designs within this collection represent the Adriana Iglesias brand.”
The Spring Summer 2017 offering will be unveiled at the MILK Concept Store in Riyadat Mall, alongside a number of contemporary collections from designers including Bedouin, Army of 1 and Belles by Raquel.
Inspired from the 1969 Italian-French film ‘La Piscine’, it boasts bright shades of mustard yellow, sea blue, deep green, and hot pink in bold florals, pretty printed dresses, skirts, tailored trousers and tops.
The store will stock a selection of the collection which includes the Vermont top in yellow, the Paulina dress in red, the Hudson pants in turquoise and red, theR egent blouse and baggy pants in green and the Kimono dress in turquoise.
Adriana added: “I believe my style is mostly elegant, feminine, and very Mediterranean and I think our designs make women more beautiful. I look for that beauty.
“I’m amother-of-two so comfort and practically is always a consideration but I like to wear high quality, luxurious materials and bright prints, particularly insummer.”
Adriana’s silky pajama-style suit also emphasise the perfect on-trend, yet comfortable fashion feel worn and made popular by several stars.
The pajama outfit, once a wardrobe staple for university students who were too lazy to get dressed up for classes, has evolved into a fashion statement, moving on to the red carpet thanks to singers Rihanna and Selena Gomez and actress Jessica Alba.
The stylish ladies were spotted at major events rocking the relaxed frocks and it doesn’t look as though this trend will be slowing down any time soon.
Adriana’sown transitional day-to-night pieces have captivated celebrities around the world including supermodel Bar Refaeli and fashion consultant Natalia Shustova.
Shesaid: “I hope that the women in Bahrain really enjoy wearing my pieces and feeling the strength of the Mediterranean. I also hope that they like me and what the Adriana Iglesias brand conveys. I hope people feel these designs have the ability to be worn at night or during the day by just changing shoes or accessories.”
