Dr Rajinder Sachdeva and playing partner Naeem Khan were crowned champions of the Coca-Cola Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club with a four-round total of 15 points.
The duo of Atta Ur Rehman and Rehman Tipu, who won the sixth and final competition of the series, clinched second place in the overall order of merit with 14 points, while promising young golfers Ali Al Kowari and Ali Al Hakam came third with 11 points.
Rehman and Tipu achieved a great score of 25 points to win the final Better Ball Stableford competition, closely followed by runners-up Rob and Debbie Lane with 23 points. There was a three way, 19 point tie for third place with James Lanceley and Jamie Bowen taking the honours on count back. Nearest-the-pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 were won by Albert Monson and Dave Fernie respectively.
The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the club’s Members’ Lounge where Adam Dutson, the Royal Golf Club’s tournament coordinator, was on hand to present the prizes on behalf of Coca-Cola.
The series will now be replaced by weekly Monday Night Lights competitions at the Royal Golf Club every Monday evening. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start.
