Awali Golf Club’s competition players enjoyed a beautiful warm day with a slight cloud cover, resulting in near-perfect golfing conditions on Friday.
Overall winners of the Greensomes format were Jasper Meinema and Rick de Groot with 44 points. In second place was Madeleine Doporto and Alan Staunton with 43 points. Third place was Nathan Sundaresan and Bronson John with 42 points. Fourth Place went to Gary McDermott and Bill Scarth, and fifth place to Tony Robinson and Essa Abdullah - both teams scoring 41 points.
Side prizes for nearest-to-the-pin on holes number 4, 12, and 14 went to Phil Morrison, Yong Back Kim and Abdulla Al Ghatam, respectively.
The clubhouse was lively, with players and members appreciative of the meal, prizes and raffle drawing.
Coming up this week at AGC is tonight’s social event at the driving range starting at 6pm, and Friday’s 5th Annual Korean Cup competition sponsored by Kwang Bok Kim. Space is still available for both events. Contact the clubhouse at 17756770 for more details.
