Red and white was again the colour of the day last Friday at Awali Golf Club in the BMMI Alosra Christmas Hamper medal competition.
After a fog-delayed start, normal service was resumed with ideal playing conditions. Many low scores were returned, Jeong Hae Kwak scampering around the course to the number-one spot with a net 63 (gross 88).
Ahmed Al Noaimi continued his steady, quality play and came away with yet another medal for the best gross score of 71, bringing his tally to three medals in the last three weeks.
The post-play festivities commenced with a wine-tasting courtesy of sponsors BMMI Alosra followed by the prize presentation of traditional Christmas hampers for the winners.
Serwin Rampersad was master of ceremonies, assisted by Tournament Director Serwin Rampersad, both of whom looked a little like a certain traditional man in red. Paul McClean and Julie Kisio decided that green was the new red and received the accolade of best outfit, with Kerry Diaper stepping out in an appropriate style and being complemented on her tinsel and bauble decorated golf shoes.
