Philipp Plein’s Autumn/Winter 2018 line is out-of-this-world featuring edgy metallic jumpsuits, fur vests and boots and other astronaut-inspired creations.

The German designer who is devoted to beauty and has a passion for rock’n’roll, combines that love with a futuristic space odyssey journey to create his recent collection.

During the recent spectacular US show unveiling of his new designs in Brooklyn, the stage was illuminated by 800 lasers and an 18m wide spaceship slowly descending to earth.

The door opens and out strutted famous Russian model Irina Shayk in a helmet and a sleek black jumpsuit that said: ‘I love you Philipp Plein’. An ice wall then shattered and a robot emerged taking Irina by the hand to kick-start the galactic journey.

Adding to the glitz and glamour, the celebrated creator showcased the styles on an all-star cast of super models, a Paralympic athlete, on socialites, rappers and singers such as Migos, 6ity9ine, Rich the Kid, Ayo & Tayo.

This was sci-fi fantasy meeting luxury, street-style and sportswear collide in a supernova explosion. The looks were completed with Barbarellas in big pastel hair-dos, metallic jumpsuits and fur ski boots and astronauts walked the foggy runway in studded biker jackets and red-stripe denim.

See-through plastic Blade Runner macs, spacesuit puffer coats and mirror-panelled tracksuits were paired with latex trousers, goggle sunglasses and snow hoverboards. Cosmic cat-suits, knee-high boots and teddy bear bags encrusted in crystals also sparkled like bright constellations.

The designer boasts offices in Europe, North America and Asia with more than 120 mono-brand stores with more than 500 retail clients worldwide.
