Having read your interesting cover story about Ryaan Sharif helping to guide young entrepreneurs into making their fledging business a success, I was also impressed by the photographs on the inside pages showing the office space they share.
Apart from the great view from the 15th floor of the NBB Towers, the kitchen and game area was just as impressive.
I’ve heard this approach is growing in popularity in the business world. I think it’s important to create agile workspaces which go beyond the traditional open-plan office, to take into consideration how people work in 2018 – quiet booths for confidential calls, collaboration areas, relaxation space, hot desks with laptop docking stations, inspirational zones and so on. Well done Flat16Labs Bahrain for showing the way.

In order to support job seekers to improve their skills and enhance their employment opportunities, Tamkeen has launched an internship scheme.
The aim is to create an effective partnership between
Tamkeen and new graduates.
The programme also provides necessary support to enterprises in order for them to attract new skilled graduates so they can benefit from their education and, in return, provide them with practical experience needed to enter the labour market.
The practical training periods are a prerequisite for bridging the gap between the skills of new graduates and the requirements of the labour market by understanding its nature and identifying its needs directly, so as to make graduates more capable and efficient in accomplishing assigned tasks.
Dr Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, Tamkeen chief executive.
Editor’s note: The Internship Scheme aims to provide training opportunities for Bahrainis seeking employment in enterprises in the kingdom, with training periods ranging from three months to a year. Apply through the electronic portal by visiting www.tamkeen.bh

The FIFA World Cup has certainly whetted my appetite for football and like many fans I can’t wait for the new season to kick off in Europe.
There are so many interesting scenarios to consider: will Ronaldo settle in tough-tackling Italy, will anyone be capable of catching Manchester City in the Premier League and will Neymar continue rolling along in France?
I’m looking forward to reading Kristian ‘The Voice of Sport’ Harrison’s take on the whole shebang. Will he be any better at predicting the outcome of the domestic leagues? Here’s hoping he doesn’t back any of my favourite teams!
Trevor, Saar.
Editor’s note: Our man Kristian backed Germany to win the World Cup.
