The popular Filli Café in Manama has repackaged its classic and summer shakes, bringing a stylish new look to its refreshment favourites.
The milkshakes were previously served in plastic cups, but the outlet has transitioned to glass bottles in an attempt to cut down on waste, a move sure to be popular amongst the current wave of environment-friendly initiatives sweeping the kingdom.
The bottles come in two different sizes; 300ml and 500ml, and are priced at BD1.500 and BD1.800 respectively. Popular flavours include Catch Me If U Can Snickers, Pulp Fiction Mango and Straw In Berries Strawberry.
Filli’s business development manager, Marcus Njorge, revealed that the shake-up has struck a chord and is just the first stage of a wider green movement. He said: “Everything has remained the same, from the way the drinks are carefully crafted, to the way they taste. We’ve just changed the packaging from plastic to glass and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Now that we’ve changed our milkshakes, the next step is to ensure all of our chilled drinks come in glass bottles and we cut down plastic waste significantly.”
