One of the world’s most iconic vehicles made a spectacular entrance into the kingdom at a glamorous ceremony on the lawn of the Reef Resort & Spa.

The Jeep Wrangler was unveiled by Behbehani Brothers at a snazzy ceremony and party on Reef Island watched on by VIPs and customers after a warm welcome from company executives and representatives of the marque.

Finely-clad waiters and waitresses brought beverages and tasty snacks on silver platters until the lights went up and Sam Yacoub, GM Behbehani Brothers, took the microphone.

“The Wrangler is the undisputed off-road champion and a unique vehicle for everyday urban adventures, offering excellent levels of comfort and superior driving dynamics,” he said.

“It is with this clear objective that the iconic Jeep Wrangler has been completely renewed while remaining true to itself, with legendary off-road capabilities, authentic Jeep styling and advanced technology features.”

Jeff Ellsworth, FCA’s Middle East region’s head of Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep and product planning, added that the new Wrangler was ready to write ‘a new exciting chapter’ in the legendary history of the Jeep brand, a story which began in 1941.

A selection of cars cruised alongside him and they quickly took centre stage as guests set off to admire the new style classic and have their photographs taken alongside them.

The fourth generation is offered in three different trim levels: Sport, Sahara and Rubicon – all available in a two- or four-door configuration. As previously highlighted in GulfWeekly, the use of lightweight, high-strength aluminium closures – including doors, door hinges, fender flares, windshield frame and magnesium swing gate – contribute to reduce the overall vehicle weight, improving its fuel efficiency too.

Jeep functionality and versatility are also celebrated in the completely restyled centre console which houses the gear shift selection, transfer case and parking brake and making its debut is a push-button starter.

An upgraded 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine delivers 285hp @ 6,400 rpm and 347 Nm of torque at 4,100 rpm.

The Jeep Wrangler, priced from BD12,799, is now on show at the Behbehani Brothers Jeep showroom in Sitra.
