The next generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS 2019 has roared into the kingdom with a raft of improvements under the bonnet and in the cockpit.

The German marque’s latest masterpiece was recently launched at the Bahraini-German Business Network Reception at The Ritz Carlton, Bahrain and according to the designers, the 2019 iteration ‘matches the model’s distinctive shape and captivating appeal with new enhanced comfort and technology features.’

With its introduction in 2004, the CLS introduced the four-door coupé segment with an iconic shape that fused the elegance and dynamism of a coupé with the comfort and functionality of a sedan. The third generation seamlessly connects every element of the CLS and elevates it with improvements to the design, safety and technology.

The new CLS becomes the first Mercedes-Benz model to fully embrace the design philosophy of sensual purity. The striking exterior features are characterised by the high, arching waistline and sporty frameless side windows. The sharpened front end appears longer thanks to the fully inset bonnet. The edges and lines of the new CLS are greatly reduced, and the surfaces are generously arched.

The completely redesigned interior offers an oasis of tranquillity with intuitive and user-friendly technology, safety and comfort features that are designed to keep the driver engaged, connected and in charge.

It impresses with its clear basic lines, and echoes the sensual, flowing contours of the exterior. For a graceful overall impression, the design makes a wave-like progression from the front to the rear door and opens out at the B-pillar.

The cabin blends exclusive materials and finishes with exceptional ambient lighting that can be individually set in 64 colours. For the first time, this extends to the turbine-style air vents, where they visualise whether the temperature is being set to a warmer or colder level.

The third generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS is powered by completely new engines, with in-line four and six-cylinder petrol units. Also characteristic of the four-door coupé is the extensive range of 4MATIC models.

The optional Energising Comfort Control feature offers up to six programmes that intelligently consists of sound, lighting, seating and climate comfort.
