We are pleased to announce the return of the Women Power Summit 2019.

The event will be held on April 7 & 8 at the Isa Cultural Centre.

The Women Power Summit is an annual event held to bring together a number of women from across the region in one place to empower, inspire and create, and this year will be no different.

This year, the Summit will host 80 male and female leaders to come together and discuss key points and topics of the workplace environment that they are in, as well as how they are able to communicate, build stronger relationships and participate in team building within the workplace.

Our goal with the Women Power Summit 2019 is to connect a number of individuals by rewarding them with access to a wider network to acquire beneficial knowledge, allowing them to think innovatively and creatively and express themselves to create positive change.

The summit will also be able to provide attendees with investment opportunities, creating partnerships and collaborations whilst networking with a number of inspiring entrepreneurs across the region and the GCC.

Mentorship sessions and panel discussions will also take place, allowing those attending the summit to engage and network with like-minded innovative, entrepreneurs and creatives.

Summit Wafa Al Obaidat, CEO of Obai & Hill and founder of the Women Power.

Is it just me, or have other readers noticed an increase in prices in the stores and coffee shops in recent days? Has the introduction of VAT given companies an opportunity to make a killing? Take my regular breakfast sandwich which has been increased by BD1. I refused to pay and went without. The same café has also upped the price of its omelettes. Strangely, you can have two fried eggs on toast for half the price and guess what, the omelette is also made from two eggs in the same pan!

Angry and hungry, Saar.

TO commemorate the 70th Republic Day of India, Bahrain India Educational and Cultural Forum in association with Veritas Public Relations and The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam, is organising the INDIA QUIZ 2019.

It will be at The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Diamond Jubilee Hall, Bahrain on Friday, February 1.

The Quiz master will be A.P.M. Mohammed Haneesh, a senior Indian administrative service officer. Mohammed, MD of Kochi Metro, is a familiar face to quiz buffs of Bahrain as he has been the quiz master for the previous two editions of the event.

This unique India quiz competition is open to all. Entry is free and more than 200 teams from around Bahrain are expected to participate in the preliminaries.

Each team entering the 10th India Quiz must have three members, with one adult and one student (under 18) and the third member can be either an adult or student. The quiz will cover any subject related to India and Bahrain, so as to enable the participants to learn about and appreciate both countries.

A qualifying written round will be staged on Friday, February 1, at 5pm at The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam and the top six teams will move into the finals. This event will start at 7.30 pm with a Republic Day parade.

First prize will consist of a rolling trophy, plus three individual trophies, certificates and a cash prize. Those placed second and third will also receive individual trophies, certificates and cash prizes.

A participation certificate will also be issued to all the participants signed by Mohammed on the same day.
