Martin Garrix’s dazzling light show at the Bahrain International Circuit, heart-pumping music and psychedelic graphics made for a ‘fun-tastic’ Friday night that Formula One ticket-holders in attendance will never forget.

The 23-year-old Dutchman started on time, putting thousands of Sakhir visitors into a trance with his eclectic electronic dance music mixes and pulling them to the stage like a pied piper.

However, instead of using a flute, Martin’s energy combined with sounds of upbeat Big Room and progressive house kept the crowd dancing throughout his entire one-hour and-a-half set.

His production was outstanding, taking people on a musical journey and kicking off with his bouncy dance, electronic big room house hit Animals.

His music brought on waves of excitement and emotions for throughout the Formula One Village. Fans felt the buildup as the beats pounded in their chests and as soon as it dropped, the crowd jumped in unison to the sky along with streaks of colourful laser lights and bursts of flames.

Visitors could feel the heat from the fireworks and fire exploding from the stage.

The graphics were also a trippy sight to see with two large screens showcasing people’s enjoyment as well as Martin’s electric performance on stage and flashes from his videos.

He commanded the stage as well as the crowd and created an uplifting buzz. Although some commotion went on around the village, most music lovers could not care less because they were mesmerised by Martin who interacted with fans asking them to throw their hands up in the air and to enjoy the night.

At one point, he called out for all the dreamers as he played his 2018 track – Dreamer and soon people were partying to the full when he played Scared to be Lonely and Don’t Look Down. Streamers and confetti also burst out from the stage several times, adding to the intensity and rave-like atmosphere.

While some may have criticised the idea of having a DJ for F1 entertainment, Martin proved his $22million net value worth … and then some. It was one heck of a musical ride so to all those haters out there, you totally missed out!
