Pantone, the global authority on colour and provider of professional shade standards for the design industry has unveiled its 2020 hue that will brighten up any room and mood.
The Pantone Fashion Colour Trend Report Spring/Summer 2020 edition features youthful and uplifting shades.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute, said: “Combining our desire for stability, creativity and more spontaneous design approaches, the colour palette for Spring/Summer 2020 infuses heritage and tradition with a colourful youthful update that creates strong multi-coloured combinations as well as energising and optimistic pairings.”
These shades are not just for designing purposes as they are also set to turn heads in the fashion world.
Many retail industry insiders have been seen donning these hues at the New York and London Fashion Weeks with an emphasis on one particular shade: Flame Scarlet.
Red always exudes power but this particular colour is great for confidence and determination. Flame Scarlet is being used to showcase the female empowerment movement. Many fashion designers have been using this colour to create belts, laid back boxy suits or even puffy sleeves. It’s all about drawing attention and making a statement.
Leatrice told Women’s Wear Daily that red always gives a voice to women. This colour has already been seen on the likes of the First Lady of France, Bridgette Macron and soulful singer Lizzo.
And of course, these colours are also popular with the gents.
Leatrice added: “If a colour speaks to you, you love it and it appeals to you — then go for it. Regardless of gender, we shouldn’t be putting labels on colours.”
Here is the list to keep you looking colorfully fly all year round.
