The International Motor Trading Agency (IMTA) unveiled the latest Mazda3 in its showroom in Tubli and with it begins a new era in design for the Japanese automaker.

The 2020 Mazda3 is said to adopt a matured Kodo design language that attempts to embody the essence of Japanese aesthetics. The overall form presents a simple, single motion and subtle undulation, which is believed to bring the design to life through shifting light and reflections that glide over the body surface.

The interior is where the new design really comes to life. With optional leather trim and an 8.8” infotainment screen that is standard to all models, the Mazda3 feels like a luxurious and gorgeous step into the future.

This new look creates an even richer and more powerful expression than the previous Kodo models. Despite sharing the Mazda3 moniker, the hatchback is emotive and the sedan is elegant. During the launch, which was attended by members of the media, Suzan Kanoo, IMTA president, said: “It is such a beautiful car. If you notice, there are no low lights, since the main headlights are much brighter. The lines overall create a sleek and gorgeous feel, that will flow into the upcoming models in this new design generation. The redesign gives it a sleeker, futuristic feel, and with the luxurious interiors, it’s difficult to believe that this is the Mazda3 we are used to! While the Mazda3 is targeted mainly at millennial university and college students, I am getting one myself!”

There is a 1.6litre variant with 110bhp and a 2.0litre version with 148bhp. The all-new Mazda3 also adopts Mazda’s new Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture, designed to enable people to make the most of their natural sense of balance. The powertrain lineup comprises of the latest Skyactiv-X, Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-D engines, each of which provides responsive speed control in any driving situation. Mazda has dramatically enhanced the car’s fundamental driving attributes such that accelerating, turning and braking feel completely natural too.

Having sold more than six million units since its 2003 debut, the Mazda3 is a global strategic model that has driven the automakers growth from both a brand and business perspective. It has delivered Mazda’s renowned driving pleasure to customers all over the world and been a mainstay of production at key plants globally.

IMTA vice president KN Singh said: “The next generation of Mazda cars will enhance the value of the car-ownership experience. Though these products, we will further raise Mazda’s brand value and work towards our goal of building strong bonds with customers all over the kingdom.”

The vehicle is on display in the Mazda showrooms in Sitra and Tubli. To book a test drive, contact Sitra on 17706010 or Tubli on 17875777.
