The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) participated in the 20th Saudi International Wedding Fair 2020 in Jeddah.
The fair is recognised as a one-stop destination for all things wedding related including fashion and jewellery.
The Bahraini Pavilion, held under the slogan of Island Wedding, covered an area of 25sqm at the fair, including exhibitors from hotels such as Al Areen Palace & Spa Bahrain in addition to the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gulf Air.
It successfully attracted a large number of visitors by offering exciting activities, including competitions that promote the kingdom as a tourist and wedding destination. Each winner received a free stay in one of the participating hotels, in addition to other prizes. Coffee, tea and traditional Bahraini sweets were also provided to visitors of the pavilion.
Dr Ali Follad, acting director of marketing and tourism promotion directorate at BTEA, was delighted with the participation. He said: “We will continue to participate in such regional and international events in order to increase the number of weddings held in Bahrain and enhance its position as a destination for weddings and celebrations.
“The exhibition has provided us with the opportunity to hold meetings with a number of Saudi families interested in hosting their wedding celebrations in Bahrain. We were also able to promote a wide range of services related to organising weddings as well as showcase various wedding halls. Our participation came in line with our efforts to participate in regional and international events as we strive to strengthen Bahrain’s position as a leading tourism destination in the region and further develop the local tourism sector.”
This fair is the largest bridal event in the industry across KSA and the GCC attracting more than 30,000 visitors. It provides businesses with the opportunity to showcase their latest products and services in the wedding sector. The event provided an ideal platform for exhibitors and visitors alike to meet and connect with renowned international companies, as well as network with VIPs.
